Eldon's Hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel nestled in the heart of picturesque Connemara in the west of Ireland. Run by husband and wife team Peadar and Suzan Nevin, within weeks of opening it was awarded a Trip Advisor Bravo badge due to the consistently excellent reviews achieved on there. Peadar and Susan together with their team were extremely busy running the hotel and needed some help with online marketing. The first thing we did was to rebuild the website as the old site looked dated and unappealing. We replaced with a fresh, modern site that did the beauty of the area and of the hotel justice. This great website enabled us to go out and confidently invest in driving traffic directly to it safe in the knowledge that conversion rates would be high. We sent inventory directly to the major metas (Trip Advisor, Google Hotels, Trivaga, Kayak) to reduce cost per reservation from these channels. In addition, we began to spend on AdWords to get people directly onto the site making sure all the time to carefully monitor the cost per reservation for each individual keyword and set keyword bids accordingly. Over time, we expanded the list of OTAs that we were on to broaden our base of bookings and began to invest in search engine optimisation to drive bookings from the organic results of Google, Yahoo and Bing. All of this primary traffic to the website was backed up with widespread retargeting on Google's Display Network, Facebook and Twitter. We are confident that the marketing strategy for Eldons is as sophisticated as many hotels far larger than it is.
